Excessive Sweating Reduction
This targeted treatment reduces excessive sweating by calming overactive sweat glands, helping you feel more confident, dry and in control.
For those struggling with excessive sweating, our targeted injectable treatment offers a reliable and discreet solution, helping to reduce perspiration and restore everyday confidence.
Hyperhidrosis is a condition characterized by excessive sweating beyond what is necessary for temperature regulation.
This can affect various areas of the body, including the underarms, hands, feet and face. The condition can significantly impact daily activities and self-confidence
Botulinum toxin (Botox) is an effective treatment for hyperhidrosis.
When injected into the affected areas, Botox blocks the nerve signals responsible for supplying the tiny sweat glands under the skin.
This reduced sweat gland activity therefore results in a significant reduction of sweat and moisture production, providing relief for several months.
In the context of hyperhidrosis, Botox is effective in improving symptoms in localised areas, but is not suitable for a generalised hyperhidrosis disorder.
You will undergo a full medical consultation before proceeding to determine the most suitable treatment regimen for you.
Treatment involves a series of multiple small injections into the target area.
Topical anaesthetic is applied to the area for comfort.
The treatment itself is over in a matter of minutes. Patients find they are able to continue their day as normal with no downtime.
Results begin to appear within 3-5 days and usually you are able to really appreciate the full effects of treatment by around 2 weeks.
If during the first 2-4 weeks you feel like you would like a bit of a stronger effect then we would be delighted to see you for a complimentary review and if indicated, administer a top-up dose adjustment.
Results last around 4-6 months and gradually wear off, meaning that repeat treatments would be recommended for ongoing benefit.
Although Botulinum Toxin injections have near to no downtime, there are a few things we will advise you to do post-treatment, to ensure your results settle as well as possible.
- There may be mild bruising or tenderness in the area, which resolve over 1-2 days.
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid excessive heat for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the area for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid use of deodorant for at least 6 hours; ideally wait until the following day.
You will receive tailored aftercare advice during your consultation.
