Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)
Using your body’s own healing cells, PRP stimulates collagen, improves skin texture and supports natural regeneration from within.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy uses your body’s own growth factors to stimulate skin renewal and hair restoration, offering a natural, regenerative approach to improving tone, texture and overall skin vitality.
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that harnesses your body’s own natural healing power to rejuvenate the skin and stimulate hair growth.
Commonly known as the “vampire facial”, PRP is a popular, well-established procedure in both aesthetic medicine as well as hair restoration.
PRP belongs to a group of treatments known as collagen induction therapies.
It is ideal for those seeking a more natural, injectable-free approach to improving skin tone, elasticity, acne scarring and hair density.
PRP therapy isolates the plasma component of your venous blood which is then injected into the areas requiring treatment. The growth factors contained therein result in a stimulation of the body’s natural healing process, which then leads to improvement in skin elasticity, complexion, fine lines, acne scarring and hair follicle health.
After a small blood sample is drawn it is placed in a centrifuge that separates the platelet-rich plasma from the red blood cells. This golden, nutrient-dense plasma is packed with growth factors and stem cell signals.
When re-injected into targeted areas, it triggers your body’s natural healing and regeneration, leading to:
- Enhanced collagen production
- Improved skin tone, texture, and firmness
- Reduction in fine lines, acne scarring and crepiness
- Strengthened hair follicles and improved hair growth
PRP can be used on its own or combined with microneedling or polynucleotides for even greater impact.
You will undergo a full medical consultation before proceeding to determine the most suitable treatment regimen for you.
Topical anaesthetic (numbing cream) is applied for comfort.
Blood is drawn from your arm. It is then processed in a specialised device known as a centrifuge which allows the platelet-rich plasma to be separated from the other blood components.
The PRP is injected into the desired area using a fine needle, a cannula or a combination of the two.
Most patients describe the treatment as tolerable, with a mild stinging sensation at times
For optimal outcomes, we typically recommend a course of 3 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart. However more treatments are typically required to address hair loss compared to skin rejuvenation.
Maintenance treatments every 6-12 months can help preserve results and support ongoing skin and hair health.
Aftercare is an important part of achieving the best results.
- Avoid exercise for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid excessive heat for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid rubbing or massaging the area for 24 hours after treatment.
- Avoid use of make-up over the puncture sites for a minimum of 6 hours ; ideally wait until the following day.
- For scalp treatments, delay washing your hair until the following day.
- Mild tenderness and bruising may occur and undereye treatment may lead to transient puffiness for 2-3 days.
You will receive tailored aftercare advice during your consultation.

PRP is a versatile treatment that can be used in several areas:
- Face: for rejuvenation, fine lines, skin tone and post-acne scarring
- Under-eye area: to improve hollowness and crepiness
- Scalp: to support hair growth and follicle health
- Neck and décolletage: for texture and laxity improvement
- Hands: to refresh ageing skin
PRP works by stimulating your skin’s own healing and regeneration process, so results build gradually.
You may notice a subtle glow within the first 1-2 weeks, but improvements in texture, tone, and firmness typically develop over 4-6 weeks with continued benefits over time and as you progress along your treatment course.
